Training

WebFolk are experienced at delivering a range of ICT training programmes, and believe firmly in helping organisations to help themselves. We provide the following:

Courses and workshops

WebFolk have run long-term courses in website design for a number of clients, including the South Sheffield City Learning Centre and Access Space. These can be tailored to suit individual needs but generally provide a firm grounding in writing accessible and standards based websites, and website maintenance using any of a number of industry standard software packages.

We also provide single workshops tailored to the needs of your organisation. These could cover web design and maintenance, accessibility, web copy-writing, processing graphics for the web, and so on.

Individual support

WebFolk can work alongside staff who have responsibility for a website, helping them with a specific project or generally improving their skills. Our priority in such cases is developing self-sufficiency and confidence, empowering people to be creative in tackling the challenges of their job and helping them to work to the highest standards.

Free software

More and more organisations are recognising the benefits of free and open-source software: industrial-strength applications developed by a global community of software developers for the benefit of all.

WebFolk have considerable experience with free and open-source software (in fact, our business is based upon it). If your organisation is worrying about how to afford expensive software licenses, then don't! We can showcase a wide range of free software, help you choose the packages which are right for you, help install it, and provide training and ongoing support for staff if needed.
